Dental insurance?

does anyone know what insurance I can purchase for individual that will cover at least half or more of my dental work?

Dental insurance?
Dental insurance for individuals is not very good. First you have the premium which could be anywhere from $30 to $60 per month, then you have a deductible (usually $50), then you have an annual limit of $750 to $1500. If you need some major work done you may have a waiting period of 6 to 36 months.

I have found the dental discount plans to be very good (don't fall for the medical discount plans, though, because most are scams). Plans will start at about $80 per year. They have a set fee schedule so you know what you are paying up front. There is no deductible, no waiting period and no yearly maximums. You can compare over 30 plans here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo... and can look up your dentist to see if he is in the plan.
Reply:No, because we don't know what dental work you need.

Generally, private policies cost more on a monthly basis than they pay out - with exclusions, copays and deductibles, you're usually better off paying out of pocket.

Reply:AFLAC has a dental policy that can be purchased for around $35.00 a month. It has no deductible, pays by ADA code instead of percentages, and a annual maximum benefit of $1400. It does have some waiting periods (3months for fillings, 6 months for extractions, 12 months for root canals, crowns). Its a good plan for individuals. I just used it, I had a cleaning and a filling and had to pay $46, AFLAC payed over $180. Last year, I had to have several fillings and a crown, they paid a little over half of my bill on that one too.
Reply:I have a dental plan that can save you up to 80% and even covers cosmetic dentistry. It also covers prescriptions, vision and chiropractic care. If you would like information on it you can either contact me or check out the website at
