Dental Insurance?

I had fractured my three font teeth about a year again when I fail at my house, and need to still get crowns put on each one of them, Does anybody know if my MEDICAL insurance would pay for this since it was a accident

Dental Insurance?
Your medical insurance may pay for this, as well as your homeowner's policy.

The claim should have been filed immediately after the accident.

Here's the problem: your dental office may not be set up to file medical claims. The coding for medical is completely different than the coding for dental, as are the claim forms.

Not long ago, we tried to help a (child) patient who fell at a friend's house and hurt her front teeth. We did the work, but getting the claim filed was a nightmare. The insurance was Aetna and they would only accept medical codes. I tried to find these AMA codes on the internet and they weren't available. I went around with them for several months before we saw a dime.

Some dentists will shy away from this because payment is a gamble for them. Your medical might pay, your homeowners might pay, your dental plan might pay, nobody will pay...OR the various plans will fight over who is liable.

Honestly, the best person to ask would be the claims adjuster for your accident.
Reply:Medical would not pay for that but it is possible that home owners insurance would pay for some or all. Down side to this is that whoever owns the home (Carry's the insurance) may be penalized it depends on the type of insurance policy it is. I'm guessing that you don't have dental insurance, if you do than it will pay for some of it, usually 50 to 80%.
Reply:I agree 100% with Melebop. That's all. I've had this kind of thing paid by home owners and even once by auto insurance when the patient slipped on the ice and broke her teeth on the bumper of her car.
Reply:some medical ins. will pay for treatment if it was an accident, but since the accident was a year ago they might not. call your ins.co.they will be able to answer your question
Reply:Have you already had medical claims associated with this accident? If you have I would start by calling my medical ins. co. and inquiring with their customer service - then ask your dentist to predetermine your benefits before beginning the work on the crowns (if your med. insurer says "yes" then be sure to give all the information to your dentist!) - then you'll have it all in writing before you start.
