Dental insurance? I need to get 3 wisdom teeth taken out but i cant afford it.?
Hi. You might want to try http://www.apdiscounts.com They are not insurance but better because there are no waiting periods, no deductibles, no limits. For 1 person its only $11.95/month and for an entire family its $19.95/month. Go here or on the website to see what providers are in your area. http://providersearch.ameriplanhealth.co... I have not personally used the dental but I have used the medical in which I ended up in the hospital for 2 days and they took $2000.00 of my hospital bill. The medical is $49.95-59.95/month and the dental is FREE with the medical. Hope this helps. Katherine.
Reply:sometimes medical insurance will cover wisdom teeth removal; it depends if they're impacted or not.....

if you have medical insurance; call them once and check if they provide coverage for wisdom teeth removal.
Reply:Have you also looked into whether the local dental schools (reputable ones please) offer their services at reduced prices or even for free? They used to (haven't needed to use them since I my jobs have offered dental plans). However, it means you'd be worked on by dental students (not complete newbies but they are still learning) being supervised by experienced dentist professors.
Reply:Assuming you get a dental insurance (it's difficult to get a dental insurance unless your employer provides it) you still can't get your wisdom tooth pulled out immediately. You need to wait from 6 months to 12 months before you can claim treatment costs from most dental insurance policies.

A wiser move might be to get a dental plan closer to your local area with local dentists participating in it. They will offer discounts on your treatment costs. So, you will be paying lesser than what the dentist usually charges.

If you are really short of money then go to a local dental school that needs patients and get your treatment for almost free. As someone has mentioned check that the dental school has good credentials.
